Complete the Volunteer Application Form
Funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, this project will gather the history of voluntary activity within the Borough of Nuneaton & Bedworth from 1900 to the present day. This project coincides with the 25th Anniversary of the presence of a Volunteer Centre within the Borough and record and publish personal experiences of 25 volunteers in the community.

The overall aims of this project are:
To research events such as the 2 wars people volunteered in, or experiences people have gone through whilst volunteering.

To investigate and record the formation of key volunteer led projects or services in the Borough such as St. John’s Ambulance, CAB, WRVS, Neighbourhood Watch, the Parsonage Project, CVS and League of Friends.

To organise a rolling programme of Open Days/Exhibitions, culminating in a launch of the completed research.

To publish the findings in various formats such as DVD, printed booklets, Website, archives etc.

How the project works

Help volunteers to learn the arts of archival research (both documents and web sites) and to carry out face-to-face interviews.

Volunteers are taught how to collate and reproduce the material gathered in various media (where technically possible).
